Book provided a lot of information but it was difficult to read! There were no pictures or drawings in the book so it made for very tedious reading!

If you want understanding and desire to study this is the book for you. Easy reading,a little dry but exceptional information.

I enjoyed Edersheim's thorough and engaging descriptions of Temple worship. The book is not long but is dense with information. I would have given it five stars except that the somewhat archaic language made the reading a bit difficult at times.

The book is billed as an "interactive workbook" for individual and small group study - as far as I can tell, "interactive workbook" mostly means that it has questions with room for you to fill in the blanks with your answers. I would find the format annoying (or perhaps too much homework) if everyone in the group had a workbook and were tasked to fill in the blanks before every group meeting.HOWEVER, I am the facilitator of a small Bible study group. We are focusing on Frances Chan's video which goes with his book "Forgotten God," and I have been using the workbook as a leader's guide. It has questions designed to provoke discussion, sometimes centered around the video, sometimes not, but always helpful if the discussion lags. The questions are indeed thought-provoking, not just throwaways with obvious answers. They have made the job of facilitating (perhaps guiding) the discussion much easier and more productive, and as such, the book is invaluable, worth every penny.

Very well written and easy for just about anyone to facilitate in a small group setting. Can be used along with the book but is just as good on its own in a group setting or to go through on your own. Each session offers challenging spiritual questions that lead to spiritual growth and self evaluation. Highly recommend!

I was looking for material to teach on the Holy Spirit when I found this book by Francis Chan. My background helped me to understand that for a starting course on the Holy Spirit, this book would work well. I order the DVD and a workbook for a class of about 25 and we are to start shortly. The book covers plenty of scriptures with a balanced look at who the Holy Spirit is and why we need His work in our lives today. The goal of the book is to move a "natural" church to a "supernatural" church. Learning to allow the the Holy Spirit to do his work through the people of the church.

This is such an amazing bible study to experience. We started doing this with our small group. Francis Chan has this way of making you feel so convicted, but not in a horrible way. He makes you feel convicted, but empowered to be different.

For me, the study wouldn't be complete without the workbook. It takes you so much deeper. We're doing it as a group and it's wonderful!

I highly recommend this study to anyone who wants to get serious about their relationship with God. Francis Chan is the most genuine, authentic teacher I have seen. This study will challenge you to submit to the authority of and gain the power of the Holy Spirit. Perfect for use in a men's group setting.

Excellent. Thought provoking questions that help me grow. I highly recommend this book. Frances is an excellent teacher and also a wonderful example of a man truly loving God no matter what the cost.

Really deep into the Holy Spirit...at my level, at this time, possibly too deep. The workbook is intensive and makes one stop and really think about past things and present. I love the Holy Spirit and glad it is with in me.
