Dane Maddock, 'Bones" Bonebreak and company team up with a computer coding whiz who has developed a neural network system. Her system enables such fantastic data analysis that her life is endangered as others try to steal it. Escaping with Bones, her system is used to find a location on the Island Maug with huge potential for treasure, but with attached extreme danger. As the team makes their way to the island they must overcome not only a super cyclone storm, intelligent squid, but also the same people after her neural network software.This is a great adventure novel.

As with all of the Dane Maddock Universe books this is a great story from beginning to end. C. B. Matson as with the other co authors of this series has a true grasp of the rapour between Maddock and Bones and gives a thrilling ride. It was a book that you don't want to put down until the end, a lot of the time you are wondering how they are going to make it. The excitement and suspense as always leaves you wanting more and more stories containing these two wonderful characters and their friends. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride from beginning to end. Thanks again to David Wood and C.B.Matson for this great adventure. Hope to have more.

It might have been a better book, but I found so many typos, grammatical errors, missing words, and more that it ruined the book for me. David Wood should really do a better job of proofing his co-authors if he's going to put his name on it.I also think the author spent too much time on unrealistic action sequences instead of some of the more interesting science that was sort of snuck in there...

I love the Dane Maddock books and this is a good one!Treasure,villians,monsters,a,mysterious island,a computer genus,what's not to love?

I love David Wood's characters. His books are always a great adventure. Some history, some myth and rip roaring good time.

Great read as always with this series. David Wood knows how to spin a tale. You just can't go wrong with this read.

I had this book for my Numerical Methods course. This one is a pure gem packaged as a disaster due to following reasons:1) License: Forget about products. If you use this for a course, you can't reproduce any of the routines for your homework. If you did then the entire class should be booked for copy-right infringement.2) Comments: Authors are extremely reluctant to comment their code. Out of blue variables pop-up. There is no pseudo-code for algorithms and routines are not commented.3) Typos: There are lot of typos. More than you can imagine. Most of the routines miss ; { }.4) Programming practice: If you have dealt with a good code base with just 1000 lines of code, you will get nausea and stomach cramps while analysis every single routine.5) C++: This book is written in C and indexed as C++. There is no C/C++. There is C and there is C++. Authors don't give a cent about Containers, scoping, type safety, exceptions, etc.6) Numerical Math: Common reason cite by scientific programmers is that this book cover math. The truth is it doesn't. This is more like "How to write brilliant algorithms in horrible c++ for Numerical Mathematicians." If you know the theory and find it difficult to express it in code, you will appreciate this one. However, if you don't learn good programming habits, you will be a jobless programmer.Algorithms are brilliant and well structured topics. But neither can one key-in more than 10 programs nor can they publish better executions for this code base. Theren't books which are as broad as this one. It is the only reason every Computational Math student is forced to use it.

I've bought several editions of this book: the original one (Fortran code), the C version, and now this latest in C++. I bought this last version mainly for new material on the algorithms, and not for the C++ code.The book is mainly useful for its discussion of the issues involved in numerical analysis, the presentation of algorithms, and -- to some extent -- the demonstration of the algorithms in code.That said, the biggest weakness of this book is the code itself. The C++ programs appear to be direct translations of Fortran, bringing to mind the old joke that 'real programmers can write Fortran in any language'. The book would have been far more useful, and the implementations far easier to understand, if the algorithms had been simply written in pseudocode. The code is insufficiently commented, and the variable names are often hard to comprehend. In fact, the code in this book violates almost every precept laid down by Steve McConnell in his excellent -- and still relevant -- book Code Complete 2nd ed.In that regard, the authors' concerns about potential copyright violations of their code are almost laughable; no sane programmer writing in C++ (or in Java or C#, or any other modern language, for that matter) would write his/her code the same way as presented in the book.I give this a 4* rating because of how comprehensive this book is and the care the authors take to discuss implementation issues. But I almost knocked it down to 3* because of the horrible coding.

Disastrous copyright nonsense. I bought this for two reasons:1. As a collection of commonly implemented algorithms and their typical usage.2. For a detailed explanation of the implementation of said algorithms.What you are getting here is some hideous mixture of top level knowledge with interspersed bouts of severely specific applications and a lot of garbage pseudocode. But wait! You can purchase the real code which, based on the pseudocode, is most likely some highly obfuscated C with a C++ extension. Not worth it.

This is an excellent collection of mathematical techniques for the practicing engineer or computer scientist. It goes into a littlemore detail than the previous editions. It is a valuable addition to the library of anyone who does computer simulation. My onlycomplaint is that the accompanying software is complexly interwoven, and a little difficult to pick out just one part to use.

The numerical receipes source code has provided scientist algorithms in the popular languages and is staying current with the source code. Give the students the oportunity to see the underlying code and work that has been done in the past.

Includes "secret" content, 250MB of physically-generated (see AoE III, Figure 13.121) thoroughly-random numbers. Recommended.

The license on the code in this book makes it almost completely worthless. The content of the book itself is excellent. The author's descriptions of the algorithms are valuable (and the reason for the second star), but the terms of the license prevent the source code from being used for anything practical. Instead, a reader will have to search for similar algorithms in MKL or GSL.

You will love this book if you love Mary Sue characters, next to no plot, no consistency, playing light on rape, and over all a terribly written story. Spoilers ahead!!!I have read all the books aside from the last. This book starts off with promise. A world we currently live in but with dragons. The main lead is a teenage girl who is irresponsible, feels invincible, not too bright, and hates pretty boys. She spends her time obsessively trying to take pictures of dragons which is the only thing that makes her unique. Dragons have a law that despite being hundreds of years old the potential kings must turn into their human forms for 10 years to see what it is like as a human. Despite being hundreds of years old and supposedly wise beyond measure, these potential kings have to go to high school under a strict set of rules. Main rule: No falling in love with a human and no having sex. Dragons mate for life once they have been ceremoniously mated. A dragon eats a human...and that's pretty much the thing that starts the rift between humans and dragons through out the book. This one dragon continues to eat humans.Male dragon lead meets female lead and she is reminded of the guy who raped her since he looks just like him minus the eye color. She reacts so violently out of fear that she throws up on him and passes out. He tries to get her to like him, she decides halfway through the first book that she actually likes him and that his 99% same features as her rapist do not matter. They date. Girl decides she loves main lead dragon who is king of dragons and needs a mate. With serious trials that apparently a good portion end in death this girl passes with flying colors and even kills one of the most powerful dragons...with a sword....on accident. She gets to be queen of the dragons...and then another dragon turns black (the king dragon is black so there are now more kings which is a prophecy). Enter female lead older sister. Girl sleeps around without care, hates dragons and isn't afraid to voice it, and hates relationships because she gave up her virginity to a guy who she just met and find him with another girl the next night. So she meets 2nd king and basically through out the book insults the hell out of him and the other dragons and is consistent on her hate of them. Keeps him at arms length but all of a sudden decides she loves him and wants to be his queen. She doesn't go through the trails but has to decide the fate of one human and bam, she's queen. Last "king shows up" and its the lead female dragon (1st kings ex). And despite not liking humans she falls in love with the sisters' brother, who in itself is a lame Gary Sue story. I had to tap out after this.Aside from this romance a 10 year old could write, the dragons and humans are almost at war. Dragons are almost at war with themselves too. Only the kings, with the strength of their human queens, can save the world. *eye roll*

The plot is rock solid, and soooo goooodd! I couldn't stop. This was totally worth the read - I really love how Loth has woven the story together. I do think that the last 40% of the book (or, ever since Rowan finds out about the dragons) felt really rushed. ·small spoilers!· I mean, I love that we got to experience the queen trials, and I love how things happened with the POV change and all, but it kinda felt rushed, I mean, I feel like she could have taken some more time to get us readers into the experience of going through them (though I do expect there to be more elaboration about them in the next book, since not everything was shown). yeah, the only down side was the rushed feeling. I would have loved for her to go into a little more detail with how things developed, especially since the plot is so good. Anyway, apart from that, I love how she started the book out - did Aspen die? You know.And it's kinda weird that we sort of find out the villain, idk if I like that that much, since I think it could have been way more surprising later on, to the reader (I didn't really see it coming), and with her new powers at the end I totally expect them to START suspecting the guy in the next book, I mean, they really have no clue about him when there should have been some slight nagging feeling... Actually, there should have been some sort of small doubt somewhere, I mean, there's talk about other dragons being unfaithful and since the reader knows who the bad guy is, it's really a surprise that the characters are so blissfully oblivious. Anyway, I hope this suspicion really unfolds next book. And I'm kinda disappointed that the characters don't find anything amiss in this book about the betrayal, it would take an idiot to not be a little suspicious. I mean, at least one of the characters should sort of see that coming! Would have loved for the ID of the villain to have been revealed at the end, rather than at the beginning of the book.

Aspen – Book 2Aspen and Obsidian are back for more adventure. Too many human body parts have shown up to pretend there isn’t a rogue dragon with a taste for human flesh. Aspen’s love of dragons is a rare point of view among the fear held by most other humans. Relationship problems in the form of Obsidian’s former lover don’t help the stress levels. But we do get to meet several new characters that I loved – like Runa. I was lucky to snag books 2 through 4 when they were on sale near the end of October. The first story was so intriguing that I immediately started this one and did not want to put it down – so I stayed up later than normal to finish it.

I couldn't wait for the sequel after I finished the first book. I wish it was a little longer. It seems like this was just a bridge from the first book to the second. The book was over before I knew it, and it left me wanting more. The addition of so many new characters without real development from them was annoying, I want to know more! Overall it was a good book and I look forward to reading the third installment, but this book made me go from edge of the seat waiting for a sequel to I'll read it when I get to it.

I liked this series so far because it is an original tske on dragons. They coexist in our everyday world, have representatives in the government and are full of secrets. There is a mystery (one dragon is eating people) and there is a plot to kill the current king, and there is a prophecy... What else do you want? Buy and read this series!!

This book was beautifully written and had me interested and wanting to never stop reading at every turn. I believed the funeral at the beginning was Aspen's and I was a bit annoyed at myself for believing a main character had been killed off when Aspen was revealed to be alive. Oh my GOODNESS! Corey and Stefano are on fire!!! I really loved the complexity of these characters, their backstories and convoluted and complex. The plot/story-line is engaging and the writing drew me in from the first page. I really liked that their story was told over several months with highlights of their lives shown. Fantastic story Renee Rose!

Add in the fact that he's the new head of security at his brother's casino where Corey is one of their best dealers, and the stage is set for a truly epic romance!Stefano recruits Corey to deal a private game, one that quickly gets out of hand and turns into chaos. Now, Stefano has "family"-related problems to deal with, and he doesn't know Corey well enough - yet! - to know if he can trust her. But, oh boy, that is a short-lived problem. I was so caught up with Corey&Stefano I didnt even really miss the others. I was engrossed from beginning to end and read this in one day. Great read.

I loved this book! Cory and Stefano were a perfect match. Strong and independent Cory has learned to guard her heart. Stefano sees beneath her exterior bravado. He falls in love quickly but will she put his family at risk? Another great read by Ms. Rose.

Another awesome entry in this series. You can't help but love the youngest Tacone brother Stephano. Chemistry off the charts

5 stars for Stefano and Corey. Talk about a Man to love you it would be him. I absolutely love this series.

The book is very detailed and has very accurate information for the time of publishing. What I didn't know when I bought it is that the publishing copyright date is 2007-2008. There have been a lot changes at Disney and especially to the GAC which is now the Disability Access System(DAS). Also there is now FP+ and an app that you can reserve ride times. You still have to go to the ride and get assigned a time to return for DAS but you don't have a card anymore. It is all on the Magic Band. There are rides that have been closed down and new lands created. Fantasyland expansion, Pandora, Toy Story Land and in August of this year Star Wars Land. I would use this book as a companion to any of the online fan sites for WDW accessibility, they are more current but some things at WDW stay the same. :)

If you really need some help,this book will be fine. My daughter used this book to guide her when she should be careful for her 1 year old son. It was good for me since I've gotten a stroke 4 years ago. The stroke was pretty severe and since the second year after, I've actually tried to visit my children in other states. This year I decided to meet them in Orlando with my right side still non-functional. It was a success! I would like to nominate Walt Disney World® with Disabilitiesfor an A+!

Having Fibromialgia myself and with the back pain both of us suffer this book is just what we needed to plan for our trip.We now have both ordered ECV's from one of the offsite rentals as recommended in the book. This is not only saving us money but lots of problems trying to get them from the limited supply at Disney.Even changed the resort we planned to stay at and took their suggestions regarding room placement and calling ahead.Also helped us determine which rides we can enjoy.Highly recommend this book for anyone with physical issues that's planning a trip to Disney World.

This book is really great. It helps relieve the anxiety of traveling to wdw with disabilities. The book does an excellent job of covering most disabilities. Not all disabilities are such that the person needs a wheelchair. There are many disabilities other that mobility issues. The one area that could of been covered in more detail would be the issue of size as far as being a large person. But, all in all this book really gives a good understanding of each attraction in all the parks, parades/fireworks, shopping and dining.

I am pregnant and will be in Disney World when I am just out of my First Trimester. This book was perfectly to the point with awesome details to help me decide which rides I should go on, and which ones I should avoid. Not only was it extremely helpful for the rides, but it goes through every aspect of the park from ticketng, parking, to detailed descriptions of the restaurants. I learned a lot more than I signed up for! It is easy, quick, and an extremely informative read. It will be traveling with us when we go to Disney in a few weeks! Whether your disability is major or minor, temporary or permananet, this is a great book to reference. Thanks!

As our first time visit to Disney this grandma wanted to be prepared going with my grandchildren, i chose this book because i needed to know how the rides would effect my physal handicaps,and Grandpas.... it has helped me with every ride in all the parks . i will refer to this book on all my trips to Disney ..it also has helped with meal planning and different levels of park rides too..and where to find rest room n rest stops...

Although this is very informative, I was surprised at the size of the book . It's pretty large, maybe 8x10 inches and approximately 1 inch thick. You would need a very large purse or a backpack to take it with you into the park. I would think it would be better in a smaller size.,that would fit in a pocket or small purse.

Bought this after seeing it at a friends house and I love it. I have the Salads one, the Toast one and now this one. It's my favorite out of the three. The salmon avocado snap pea grain bowl is to die for. The best part about it is that the recipes in this book do not take very long to make.

Basically a good book, without some of the crazy ingredients I've seen in other such books. Basic grain cooking instructions along with good combinations and sauces to enhance things. The tuna with cannellini beans my favorite so far.

Really simple and easy to follow cookbook. I make 3 of the recipes a week to last 2-3 meals each. I like to throw in extra protein, like soft boiled eggs. The dressing recipes are simple and delicious.

I am currently going to a naturopath for cancer. I needed new recipes with the goal of staying away from any type of flour. This is a very nice book, love the pictures, easy to follow recipes and great ideas for healthy eating.

This quickly became one of my favorite cookbooks. And I have a lot of cookbooks. Very healthy and easy recipes.

This is such a nice, useful book that stretches to accommodate both the novice, who wants all the help he/she can get, to the advanced cook, who would always have these ingredients in their well-stocked kitchen. I love incorporating grains into my meals and these recipes offer great opportunity, some with beautifully complex flavors and some with simple, yet quality ingredients. I am especially looking forward to preparing several of these bowls in the fall and winter when I tend to lose my craving for lettuce salads.

What a fantastic book of easy to whip together, tasty recipies that you want to eat. Makes eating simple and joyful!

I bought this book with high hopes after reading reviews. My almost 5 year old refused to poop on the potty. She would only go in a pull up and after following suggestion after suggestion with no luck I was getting extremely discouraged. That's when I heard of this book and decided to purchase it.It started off ok. It went through explanations on what causes withholding in young children and the psychology behind it, and how to make your child get over their pooping fear. Sounds good, right? Where it completely lost me is when the author gives advice on how to get your child to be more compliant. He says to lock them in a room by themself until they are calm and willing to listen to your demands!! What!?! I follow the peaceful parent philosophy and while I am far from perfect at it, this advice is extreme and harmful. The author lost all credibility after reading that poor advice. I won't even get into his pushing of using repeated enemas on your young child.The reason I give this book a 2 and not a 1 is that reading it did give us the push to get our child fully trained. We did it by letting her where pullups while sitting on the toilet and having a jelly bean reward system (2 beans for trying on the toilet with pullup, 3 for trying without, and 5 for succeeding). After sticking with that for about a month, she is fully trained and we can finally kiss those pull ups goodbye!Bottom line is, book has some bad advice, some of which can be damaging, but managed to give us the push we needed to get her trained. Not worth the money.

I have a MUCH older child - one that happens to be on the spectrum - who is non-verbal and not always compliant. Although some parts in this book are ideas/processes that will not work for my son - it gave me insight on things I may not have considered previously. In reading this book - I knew that my son was more than likely "withholding" - but I did not realize some of the other characteristics, like being lethargic or mood swings could also be contributing to his behaviors and changes. With him non-verbal and unable to express how he is feeling - it's a guessing game. My son does not have the "fear" of the toilet bowl itself - but he does have insanely LARGE BM's that I think "how the heck did he even pass a thing of that size" - so the pain issue of his BM is def a concern and why he would withhold it. Yes, the book repeats itself (but that is how we learn and understand, but repetition so we understand the terminology and so forth)... Again, I can not use EVERYTHING in this book, but I can learn and alter some parts to help with my son. It is also a VERY quick read - I completed it in under 2 hours.

Such a helpful book, I wish I had found it sooner! My daughter had been withholding poop for 2 years her pediatrician was never any help just kept telling me "she'll poop, give her time." That is unacceptable advice when you're 2 old is crying and screaming for a week at a time because she has to poop but is too scared to do it. I tried google and couldn't find helpful information. I read this book and the term functional constipation eas used, suddenly I had a plethora of information from google once I had the correct terminology.Anyway 9 months later we followed the advice on the book and my daughter is no pooping without holding it, she's not crying about it for days. I'm now weaning her from the medicine to see of it is still needed. If you are having poop problems read this book!

This is the second time I’ve purchased this book -- we apparently seem to produce children who have trouble with constipation! :) I really feel like it should be required reading for pediatricians – it describes the problem so clearly and offers many other solutions beyond just adding more fiber and laxatives.As a working mom who has little time to spend reading, the thing I love most is that this book is short, concise and straightforward. It gets right to the problem and solutions using language that I (and my kids) actually understand. Dr. Tom has clearly worked with a LOT of kids with different constipation issues and while not every story or recommendation was applicable to my kids, there are enough different ideas that I could tailor them my children’s issues.For example, our now 8-yr old daughter had trouble with constipation that started at age 3 – HUGE, painful poops and going poop in her pants/skid marks. Our pediatrician kept recommending more fiber and liquid. But this didn’t work because she was withholding (I learned this in the book, not from the pediatrician). We adapted the incentive ideas and charts in the book and that worked well for her. Gave the book away a couple years ago to a friend with similar problems.Our second daughter is 4.5 years old and was recently constantly complaining about tummy aches and wouldn’t poop for multiple days in a row (but not soiling her pants). I have been resistant to using laxatives but I feel better about it after rereading the book and especially after discovering the dosage discussion in Chapter 20 (Ch 20 is written for Healthcare Providers but I think it’s one of the most useful chapters in the book). So far so good: no more tummy aches and pooping almost every day.This book isn’t going to instantly cure your kid (sorry!) but it’s a POSITIVE book that offers helpful education and actionable advice.(Other notes: our kids love Softy the Poop -- also a book by Dr. Tom but for kids! Dr. Tom also has a website which I’ve found useful – I haven’t done it but you can request a phone call with him on the site.)
